Superegg was found based on meaningful, honest values, weaving in three important themes in my life – eggs, beauty, and balance. The line stems from my Korean upbringing, where eggs were used as part of a beauty ritual. I’ve grown up watching my grandmother and mother carefully apply different parts of the eggs onto their faces. As the egg white, yolk, and eggshell membrane contain unique essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants beneficial for replenishing elasticity and deep hydration, we’ve crafted a beauty formulation and design style based on the nutrition you receive from eggs, but a plant-based one—a vegan egg. We’ve reimagined the egg’s power into the vegan version of each component, honing its unique functions. I wanted to make sure I was creating something gentle for the skin but also the planet.
I see eggs to symbolize birth, and each new day to be an opportunity to reset and start anew. My relationship to beauty exists in fostering a strong inner strength while empowering others. Honing into the needs of one’s skin requires a special set of ears, and my intention of Superegg is to help users tune in more closely. I believe maintaining healthy balanced skin is connected to a holistic sense of well-being. I am greatly motivated by kindness and the positive effects of working collectively towards the greater good.
When we dived into the different aspects of the egg, we realized how each part of the egg—the egg white, yolk, and eggshell membrane—contains unique properties that each specifically benefited the skin. This informed our decision to create egg duplexes, where each part features its powerful plant-based equivalent per egg component.
Egg Yolk contains ingredients such as Lecithin, Collagen, Vitamins, Amino Acids, Fatty Acids, and Minerals that hydrate and brighten the skin, as well as protect with potent antioxidants. We’ve created Yolk Duplex™ (Egg Yolk Duplicated Complex), where we’ve engineered through innovative technology to duplicate these vital egg yolk nutrients with 25 high-grade vegan ingredients, including Hydrogenated Lecithin, Vitamin E, and Chicory Root Extract.
Egg White contains Albumin, Collagen, Vitamins, Amino Acids, and Minerals to firm, lift, and balance the skin. White Duplex™ (Egg White Duplicated Complex) contains 21 high-grade vegan ingredients to replicate these nutrients, including Adenosine, Tremella Mushroom, and Rice Bran Oil.
Eggshell Membrane contains Collagen, Protein, Elastin, Amino Acids, and Minerals, to rejuvenate, smooth, and soothe the skin. Shell Duplex™ (Eggshell Membrane Duplicated Complex) contains 21 high-grade vegan ingredients, including Tripeptides, Marine Glycoprotein, and Plant Stem Cells.
We launched with two hero products, with masks arriving in 2021.
Sound Renewal is an intensively nourishing gel cream of high-performing botanical extracts and antioxidants. It feels like a blanket of nutrients for your skin. It’s a lightweight formula and absorbs quickly while keeping the skin radiant and supple. We’ve formulated it with Panthenol (ProVitamin B5) and Squalane to provide weightless hydration and moisturization. PHA gently exfoliates to reveal brighter and smoother skin. The base is Helichrysum Italicum (Everlasting) Flower Water, which soothes sensitized skin and irritation. And of course, we have our Yolk Duplex™, which is targeted to hydrate and strengthen the skin.
Gentle Elements is a luxurious foaming cream cleanser enriched with botanical extracts and antioxidants to effectively remove makeup, dirt, and excess oil while restoring the skin’s natural balance. It has a pH of 5.5, which is slightly acidic but is the ideal pH of healthy skin. We’ve used gentle, non-stripping cleansing agents that melt away impurities and soften the skin. Moringa Oil strengthens the skin barrier, Vitamin C brightens, and Hyaluronic Acid deeply hydrates the skin. AHA gently resurfaces the skin, as well as micro-encapsulated beads created with various plant cellulose, sugars, clays, amino acids, and Vitamin C, that melts down upon contact with the skin. Gentle Elements Cleanser contains White Duplex™, which smoothes and firm the skin.
